You can read, reply-to, forward, and compose email from any browser in
the world when using SquirrelMail. Because SquirrelMail is IMAP-
based, your imap folders are available to you as well. The only drawback
that we have encountered is that your local address books are not available
to you ---- and if you are like me you rely on those address books
quite a lot. The address book functionality works inside SquirrelMail but
transferring address books from local email clients (like Outlook or
Thunderbird) is problematic.

browser at https://webmail.cs.ucdavis.edu (note that you must use
https and not http so the email communication is encrypted).
